COACHING STAFF: 2022-2023

Angelica Salinas is Director of Whiteout Volleyball Club and leading the 14 Purple team this season. She has coached our 18s, 16s, and 15s teams in the past.  She went to college at Santa Clara University where was a Coxswain for the Men’s Rowing team. Angelica has a background in education, has 10+ years of coaching experience, and has been nominated for Steamboat’s “Best of the Boat’s” best youth sport coach multiple times! She also serves as the President of the Young Professionals Network board of directors and on the board of the Steamboat Sports Barn board of directors. She is looking forward to working with all of the coaches and having a successful season. Go Whiteout!

Maddie grew up in Steamboat and started playing volleyball in 7th grade, quickly falling in love with every aspect of the sport. She then played under Wendy Hall for 4 years in high school, before committing to play collegiate volleyball at Regis University in Denver, Colorado. There, she was a part of a Top 25 program who competed in the 2017 NCAA Division II Elite Eight and the 2019 NCAA Division II Final Four. Maddie played almost every position on the court, from outside to libero.

Jake grew up in the Austin, TX, area and began playing volleyball in high school and continued to play club volleyball at Texas State University for four years before graduating and moving to Steamboat. While playing in college, Jake was voted captain of the team two years in a row, and his team finished as the top men’s collegiate club team in the Southern Region.  Jake has more than eight years of experience working with youth ranging from coaching to leading overnight trips. After being an assistant coach last year with the Whiteout 18’s team, he is excited to lead his own team this season!

Colleen O’Gorman grew up in Chicago playing volleyball, softball, tennis and track. She has a background playing club volleyball and started coaching for Whiteout after moving here in 2010. Colleen has coached every age group for Whiteout. Her background is in youth and adult sports and she hopes to bring her skills and enjoyment for volleyball to the Whiteout girls!

Anna was born and raised in Steamboat Springs, where she fell in love with volleyball at a very young age. She played for both Whiteout Volleyball Club and SSHS under Wendy Hall all throughout high school. Anna then went on to play collegiate volleyball for Regis University where she was a part of an NCAA Division II Final Four team. After graduating, Anna has returned home to Steamboat, where she is the Junior Varsity coach at the high school and now has the great pleasure of coaching Whiteout!

Peyton grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan where she started playing volleyball in the 5th grade. She played 4 years of high school and club volleyball, and spent her summers playing in beach volleyball tournaments along the lakeshore with her twin sister. After graduation, she went on to play 2 additional years of volleyball at Grand Rapids Community College, and then transferred to Kendall College of Art and Design to study Interior Design. She has coached club teams in Michigan and also assisted the Varsity Volleyball team at her High School for a couple of seasons. She is excited to coach again, and can’t wait for the upcoming season!
